Where To Shop For Groceries!
If you are someone like me that finds shop such a nuisance then I have a special treat for you. You will never have an issue with shopping for fresh food again. In Kelvin Grove on Musk Avenue that leads into the University campus grounds is a well kept secret in Brisbane. Unless if you live in the area its known to the locals well.
Every Saturday morning from 6 am to around 12 noon the streets near Woolworth turns into an open area on street market. Here you can wander around from footpath to footpath and stroll across the streets looking at all sorts of fresh and processed foods.
There are numerous stalls that sell fresh produce from cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. You can pick up deals such as $5 for 3 lots of bags of vegetables. We bought 3 lots of vegetables (tomatoes, beans, herbs) for just $5 buck yesterday. Bananas are just $1.99 a kg. At Aldi yu can buy ginger for $39 a kg. I found at this market the price is just $19 a kg of ginger. Approximate savings are around 40 to 50% if you shop here. We live mostly on fruits and vegetables and our grocery bill normally is around $250 a week. Since we switched to shopping at KG markets its dropped well below $180 a week now. Try shopping here.
The markets also have vendors who sell Soll Bread, organic eggs and honey, Organic meats, French cheese, and a few stalls hat even sell hot food.
The best part is you don’t have to have the stress of shopping indoors in a large super market no more. Just walking around the stalls is so relaxing and is a great therapy at the weekend. Its a real fun thing to do. And you never know you may bump into a friend and have a chance to catch up over a coffee too.
Out shopping and taking in this great weather today #shopping
